Tommy Hays’s Celebration of Life
Rest in Peace to our dear friend Tommy Hays 93 Years old. Tommy Hays has been a true Bakersfield Sound Pioneer playing with many of the local musicians for over six decades. Born in Oklahoma this Guitarist, Band Leaders history will take you back to the Dust Bowl days. He came to Bakersfield in 1947 and formed the band The Western Swingsters, playing in legendary clubs such as the Lucky Spot and The Blackboard. He appeared on the Billy Mize TV Show and had his own radio show on KMPC. In 2010 Tommy was Inducted into the Western Swing Society Hall of Fame. We were fortunate to have Tommy, a local sound pioneer still out playing in venues. Tommy is loved by all and will very much be missed on our stages. Thank you for your friendship and all the years of music you have given to the fans and musicians, you were a true gentleman. Thank you to his dear wife Kim Hays, who has loved and shared Tommy with us all. Condolences to his family and all who called Tommy their friend. Tommy’s Celebration of Life will be at Canyon Hills Church located at 7001 Auburn Street in Bakersfield CA. On Friday, June 16, 2023, at 10:00AM.
Disney’s Freaky Friday
When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again before mom’s big wedding. Disney’s Freaky Friday, a new musical based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films, is a hilarious, contemporary update of an American classic in which a mother and daughter really see what it is to be a family and experience each other’s lives first-hand, if only for a day. North High School Athletics Hall of Fame 2023
The sole purpose in the formation of the North High School Athletics Hall of Fame is to keep alive and to pass onto future Stars the unique experiences of our former athletes, coaches, and contributors. This legacy is paramount to the growth of all who are touched by the North High athletic program. The pride that is carried throughout life stemming from being a part of this history and legacy, no matter one’s role, is what it is all about. Young Frankenstein
Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced "Fronk-en-steen") inherits his family's estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor, and a leggy lab assistant, Inga, Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. "It's alive!" he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather's. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abound. Scotty will be in the audience on Sunday October 22, 2023.
Disney's Beauty and the Beast
The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end, and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. Scotty will be in the audience on Sunday December 17, 2023.
